Boarding at Cozy Cattery

Below is some helpful information about boarding your cat at Cozy Cattery.  We welcome enquiries so feel free to contact us with your questions.

Vaccinations

  • All cats are required to have current vaccinations. 

  • Any booster shots required must be done at least 10 days prior to check in day. 

  • Proof of vaccination can be brought in at drop off, emailed or uploaded on our website.  

  • if for some reason you cannot comply with the vaccination requirements eg: on vets advice or because of an emergency, contact us and we may be able to offer temporary accommodation in an isolation unit.

Diet

  • We feed Science Diet Adult cat biscuits twice a day and wet food in the evening.  We also carry a selection of the more popular dry and wet foods for cats that prefer a different brand.

  • Please let us know what brand and type of food your cat is used to when booking, this helps avoid upset tummies.

  • You are welcome to supply your own food, however there is no discount for this.

  • If your cat is on a prescription diet, please supply this with clear written instructions.

  • Cats are fed twice a day.  

  • Kittens and cats with special dietary requirements can be catered to.

  • Clean fresh water is always available. 

Health​

  • If we have any concerns about your cats health, we will arrange a vet consultation for your cat. 

  •  Owners are responsible for any vets fees incurred during your cats stay.

  • Please ensure your cat is up to date with their flea and worm treatments before boarding.

  • If we find evidence of fleas, ticks or worms we will treat the animal at the owner's cost.

  • We are happy to administer oral or topical medication.  Please provide clear written instructions and secure all medications in a sealed bag with your cat's name written on it.  

  • We do not take cats requiring regular injections, unless they are regular boarders at Cozy Cattery.

Play and Cuddles

  • We spend time getting to know your cat on an individual basis.  This is our favourite part of the job.

  • if your cat enjoys some play time outside their room, they are allowed supervised playtime in the playroom/corridor.

  • At no time are cats from other families allowed to mix. 

  • Cuddles are an important part of your cat's day and they will get plenty.  If, however, they prefer to be left alone, we respect this and give them space to relax.

  • We encourage owners to bring a small blanket or similar items that your cat is familiar with to help them feels relaxed.

Rooms

  • Individual private units that can be shared by two cats from the same family on request.
  • All units have both indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Underfloor heating to keep your cat cozy and warm in winter.
  • Doors can be opened on warm days to let in a cool breeze.
  • Litter box kept in a seperate area from the eating and drinking bowls.
  • Sleeping shelves, beds and toys provided.

What to bring

  • A small blanket, towel or item of clothing that your cat is familiar with.
  • Any small items that you feel will make your cat more comfortable.  Toys for example.
  • Any prescription medication.  Clearly marked, with full written instructions.
  • Any prescription food.  Clearly marked, with full written instructions
  • Brushes and combs.  Clearly named.
  • Please ensure your cat arrives in a secure carry cage.

What not to bring

  • Any electric or battery powered items.
  • Any large items, cat post etc.
  • String, ribbon, beads or any choke, injury or strangulation hazard.
  • Collars.  If you prefer to leave a collar on your cat, this is at your own risk.
