Rosie has dedicated her entire career to animal care and brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the cattery. Her background includes working in the thoroughbred racing industry in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, veterinary clinics, and more than 20 years of dairy farming prior to purchasing the cattery.
This extensive experience has given her strong practical knowledge of animal health and wellbeing, along with a calm, caring nature. Most importantly, it ensures every cat in her care is treated as an individual and made to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely loved.

Rosie holds a Certificate in Animal Care and Veterinary Assistance. She has also previously competed in and instructed dog obedience, as well as competed in dog conformation shows, reflecting her longstanding commitment to training and animal welfare.

Most importantly, cats have always been a special part of her life — they have been a constant presence in her home for as long as she can remember.

Aside from caring for animals, Rosie enjoys sewing. She previously designed and sold cloth nappies under the brand name Rosie’s Naps, which are still fondly remembered by many parents around New Zealand.
While she no longer sews professionally, Rosie continues to enjoy creating handmade items and has been known to make toys and quilts for the cats, as well as the occasional protective T-shirt to help cover a wound when needed. You can often see her latest creations displayed in the office before they are sent to various children’s charities around New Zealand or enjoyed by the cats themselves.
John, Rosie’s partner, brings a lifetime of experience in animal welfare, having worked in dairy farming throughout his career. At the cattery, he works behind the scenes to keep everything spotless, organised, and running smoothly. His kind and gentle nature makes him a favourite with the cats, helping them feel safe and cared for. From maintaining the environment and assisting with feeding to offering quiet companionship, John’s commitment ensures the cattery runs efficiently while every cat receives the care and attention they deserve.
